Cardiff CAMRA organised the first City of Ale festival in August 2019 – with support from FOR Cardiff (Business Improvement District) and Brains – involving 24 pubs on 4 trails around the city centre and a bonus Brains trail which went a little further out. The event was a modest success and planning commenced on a second larger festival for 2020 – however COVID 19 put an end to those plans.

We are now looking at a re-launch with Cardiff City of Ale 2024 – and are considering suitable pubs and possible trails around the city. Additionally, we are seeking support / assistance from the local authority and brewing companies.

The festival launch will be launched over the late August bank holiday and will last until the end of September 2024 – with pubs particularly promoting the weekends.
