A conversion from a surprisingly large, traditional building on the slopes of Caerphilly Mountain on the extreme northern edge of Cardiff. It has been opened out in a way that makes timber-beamed roofs a feature. Although basically a single large room, plus a function room to one site, it is split into several sections with a variety of nooks and crannies. The pub's main emphasis is on food. Note that the Lilley's cider is not recognised by CAMRA as a traditional cider. Out the front is a large patio area, partially covered, and beyond a huge, landscaped garden giving panoramic views over Cardiff and, on a clear day, over to Somerset.
