Popular city centre Brains pub with a traditional appearance and friendly bar staff, attracting a brisk trade from both locals and visitors. Dating from 1813 as the Blue Bell, it was renamed Goat Major in 1995 after the mascot of the Royal Welsh Regiment, a fact that was proudly illustrated in the many photographs adorning the cosy interior. Traditional Welsh food is served into the early evening. A handy watering hole if visiting Cardiff Castle and other local attractions.

Sold by Brains to Croeso Pub Company and then the name reverted from Goat Major to its original name Blue Bell, reopening 27th May 2021. Sells beer from a variety of Welsh brewers.
